Rhode Island Teen Coaching and Teen Counseling
Why Teen Counseling?
“The teenage years are some of the most confusing times in one’s life. Yes, life’s confusing twists and turns don’t stop, but the teen years are a time of physical and mental change. It is a time when finding one’s identity is important. This is why teen counseling is so important. A teen counselor can empathize and help a teenager who needs it.”
This excerpt is from Teen Counseling Near Me: Why It’s Important for Teens to Go to Counseling. It is from The Good Men Project, but I invite you not to dismiss the many ways it applies to all teens and young adults.
The process of building relationships with teens for growth and maturity typically includes an assessment of strengths and interests, barriers to success, determining what I can/can’t support, and creating a treatment plan that the teenager feels a sense of agency and connection to. Of course, the starting point is to build trust, respect, and safety first.
Your family is what you define as your family. Kids old enough to participate, take, and receive support are welcome and encouraged to be part of our process together. Teens and young adults in your family are valuable and needed. Please include them.
