Twenty Year Reiki Anniversary

It occurred to me yesterday morning during meditation practice that last week was the anniversary of receiving Reiki Training twenty years ago! I am so grateful for the plethora of amazing Reiki experiences over the last twenty years. It is impossible for me to envision my life without Reiki and its healing, guided energy. There has not been one day in the twenty years when Reiki was not consciously present in my life. Thank you, Reiki, for all the gifts and Teachings!

Biofield Therapies: Helpful Or Full Of Hype? Review Looks At Reiki, Therapeutic Touch And Healing Touch

As we continue to explore research on biofield therapies, including Reiki, it is important to consider that many researchers have an agenda when conducting their work. Biofield therapies are still considered controversial.  I am curious when biofield therapies like Reiki will no longer be called "complementary and alternative medicine". I find it interesting that biofield therapies like Reiki, some of which have been around for thousands of years, are considered "alternative medicine," and allopathic medicine, relatively new, is called "traditional medicine". Somehow, those two phrases do not logically make sense based on which is traditional and which is the new "alternative". I'm interested in your thoughts and perceptions on the following review: Biofield Therapies: Helpful or Full of Hype?...

Is Reiki Science or Hype?

Reiki has been in my life for so long that it is hard for me to imagine Reiki being something foreign, mystical, or unusual. I first received training in 1995 and have practiced Reiki in some form every day since. Based on that information, you can see how hard it is for me to question; is Reiki science or hype? For me, that would be like questioning if the water is wet or if the night is dark....

Things Your Couples Counselor Already Knows About Your Relationship

We all know every relationship is unique. We also know that most relationships have many similar characteristics. As a Relationship Coach and Couples Counselor, I smiled when I read 6 Things Your Couples Therapist Already Knows About Your Relationship by , on Huffington Post. Truly, there are things your couples counselor already knows about your relationship. I included an excerpt and their list from the original article, but you will need to read the article for Abby Rodman's particular take on couples counseling.  I would also like to add to the list, The Relationship Blame Game.

Reiki Benefits Cancer-Related Symptoms

As a practicing Traditional Usui Reiki Teaching Master since 1995, I have first-hand experience demonstrating how Reiki can positively affect all aspects of our lives: mental, emotional, physical, social, sexual, professional, and spiritual. It is no surprise to me that research is beginning to show how Reiki benefits cancer-related symptoms. As Reiki has gained credibility in the medical profession, the need for quality research has increased. We are all very grateful for the researchers who conducted their work without bias. Unfortunately, many researchers include personal prejudice in their work, trying to make Reiki seem to be something it's not, positive or negative. I invite you to read the excerpt from the following article on Reiki benefits cancer-related symptoms.

Potential Negative Side Effects of Meditation

Is there a dark side to meditation? Can people experience the negative side effects of meditation? Why is the spiritual community so fearful of the media exposing situations of armful or negative experiences with meditation or Yoga?  Or What Research Says about Reiki? I, for one, am not fearful or startled by these experiences or stories. I have known many people who have experienced harmful or negative side effects of Meditation, Yoga, Reiki, Tai Qi, Qi Gong, and most other healing modalities. Why is this a shock? Not all people, bodies, minds and spiritual imprints are the same, why should our experiences be the same? The same would be true for Prayer; who has not had a negative experience praying sometime in their life? Can you honestly say there is anything that you have experienced something powerfully in your life that has been completely free of any negative experiences - sleeping, eating, making love, walking, laughing, relationships, singing, dancing, painting, kissing, medicine, religion, school, hugging, psychotherapy, counseling, etc.?...
