The Spiritual Practice of Reiki – An Advanced Healing Retreat in Costa Rica 2025 is a retreat that includes Reiki Training and practice, including Second Degree Reiki and Reiki Teaching Master Training with opportunities for connecting with your Reiki and personal lineages, distance healing, Reiki Counseling, movement, meditation, Yoga and connecting with yourself, your body and each other, on the Caribbean Coast at the amazing Goddess Garden Eco-Retreat Center in Costa Rica!
This retreat is designed for those who already have a spiritual or contemplative practice, have connected to the vibration of Reiki through training or attunement, can identify the vibration of Reiki, and feel called to deepen their relationship with Reiki.
We will explore ancient wisdom teachings and meditations in connection with the Reiki lineage. We will call in our individual and collective guidance towards knowing and fulfilling our soul mission in this lifetime. We will cultivate insights and tools to heal anything that has been in the way of this.

Many of these teachings arise through embodied practices. We will dance, actively hold space, and move energy, all in service to cultivating our natural state of bliss. The Goddess Garden is a magical place nestled in the jungle, steps from the Caribbean. Birds, flowers, butterflies, sloths, monkeys, and frogs share the landscape. The lodging is generous and comfortable, and the food is local, delicious, and prepared with love.

We went deeper than I thought we would! I wanted to continue my spiritual growth and learn Reiki more fully. I loved the offering of reiki, healing apprenticeship, movement, and mantras. It seemed like an amazing balance of offerings run by two very balanced leaders from the USA. I learned how to practice reiki like an expert!
I practiced reiki daily on the retreat via self-healing, distance healing, and using reiki in many ways I never imagined. I learned how to be more authentic with my voice and movements. I had an amazing experience with Reiki Intervention too. Great leaders! They created a safe space and were dedicated to going deep and broad with the group. The leaders invested fully in ensuring the group was cohesive. For example, we had all our meals and many activities together and they regularly polled the group to ensure we were all adjusting to the pace and content. N.K.

Daily Advanced Healing Retreat in Costa Rica Schedule
The Program
Your days will begin with a simple movement and breathing practice before breakfast to connect with yourself and ground in your presence. Morning sessions will offer foundational spiritual teachings, practices, and meditations of the Healing Apprenticeship Program to cultivate and support your connection to the Higher Self and your connection to the Higher Selves of others. Teachings and practices are focused on developing a living, working faith and a system to ground and center in the body, releasing stuck patterns and energy, re-balancing energy centers, and distant vibrational healing.
The morning teachings and practices are intense. Previous experience with meditation, Yoga, Qi Gong, or similar reflective/grounding practices will prepare you for this journey.
The afternoon sessions will focus on Reiki training. Each participant will receive all the Second Degree and Reiki Teaching Master Training and Attunements and practice as a Certified Second Degree Reiki Practitioner and Reiki Master Teacher Training in the Usui Reiki Lineage.
Experience in connecting to the vibration of Reiki through training or attunement and the ability to identify the vibration of Reiki are required.
Evenings offer time for group processing to integrate the day’s work. This is followed by movement and dancing to music where you can shake loose what’s no longer needed and invite optimal energy and balance into the body.
There will be free time each day for relaxation and reflection. On Wednesday afternoon, we will explore the beautiful walking trails and beaches of Cahuita National Park.
This is an amazing retreat that went beyond my expectations. The Reiki and Healing Apprenticeship content on its own is so valuable for anyone who feels called to be a Healer; wants to learn more about Reiki and healing; or wants to grow in their spiritual practice. The experiential nature of what Michael offers goes beyond any workshops or retreats or trainings I’ve experienced in the past. Though this retreat was dedicated to Reiki Levels 1 and 2 – it seemed to go beyond into Level 3. The Reiki intervention teachings and live demonstration on two participants was like a hypnosis and seemed so powerful! His anecdotes and teachings reflect decades of experience. Adding on the Yoga, chanting, movement and meditations wrapped me in a deeper knowing, a deeper connection with my authentic self and a welcoming of all parts of me. R.R.

Advanced Healing Retreat in Costa Rica Recommendations for what to bring:
- Passport – if you are not from Costa Rica (Please do remember this! Make sure it is not expired! More details here: http://www.costarica-embassy.org/index.php?q=node/72 )
- Light Jacket or rain poncho (The evenings are sometimes cool, and it might rain during our stay.)
- Your favorite dance pants! Yeah!!
- Hiking shoes
- Flip-flops or sandals
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc…)
- Any medications
- Money Belt (Important for keeping money safe)
- Luggage Lock (To lock your luggage for safety while traveling)
- Day pack (for excursions/hikes)

- Sunscreen (very important even if you don’t burn easily; we are near the equator!)

- Swimsuit (There is a swimming pool at Goddess Garden, and the beach is a 5-minute walk!)
- Old beach towel (GG does not provide towels that can be taken to the beach because of the black sand. Given the climate, air drying works fine, but if you prefer a beach towel, please bring one with you!)
- Camera
- A Guidebook if you are planning on traveling before or after the retreat
- Bring a Spanish phrase book or a translation app on your phone for people who want to improve their Spanish.
- Journal (to document your adventure!!)

Your Advanced Healing Retreat in Costa Rica Facilitators
Michael Swerdloff (he/him) has been a Counselor, Coach, Social Worker, Community Organizer, Educator, Writer, and Reiki Master for over twenty-five years. He promotes peace, integrity, and safety through counseling, Reiki, movement, and meditation, as well as as a conscious dance host and DJ. Along with his private practice, Michael is the program manager at Dance New England, a volunteer-centered non-profit that hosts dance events that cultivate a vibrant multi-generational community. Michael has received training from H.H. the Dalai Lama, The Gottman Institute, and other revered Teachers and Healers. He is an Ordained Minister of Natural Healing from The Seminary Training Program. Michael has been clean and sober since 1989 and practices Meditation, Reiki, Yoga, and Dance/Movement daily. Michael’s memoir, Raised by Wolves, Possibly Monsters, will be released on October 15, 2024.
